Kate

Yay! I got Jacqui`s molekine on friday, just the perfect time that I can spend my whole weekend on it, so, here it is.

About the media this time, I took a reference of Jac`s works on previous pages, I used color pencil and chalks instead of using ink for the drawing, to be honest I`m not very familiar with the color pencil, but the it turns out pretty great though :), It would probably become one of my faves works in recent months.

Extreme Machines...

Watching a documentary on Extreme Machines inspired this piece. Will Robots one day take over the world? For now i think not...but technology has gone as far as them mimicing our movements and balance. The Honda ASIMO humanoid robot is the most outstanding functional piece of engineering, technology has evolved from 6 Robotic legs to the human equivalent of 2...so on that note, i am not a robot! Well I`m still working on my pages, there`s no story on my work, I just use random images from magazine, trying to mix them with some abstract stuff. Marty, hope you`ll like my pages ;p, you`ll see the finished one when you receive the book.

Every Day

The influence of one artist to another.
Moleskine belonging to Hans.

Starting with the image of a piano left by Hans, illustrating by pure artistry guidance, not only creating an image, but also adding lyrics from one of my favorite songs of all time. Thank you for the inspiration.

Medium: Pen & Silver Transfer

My next post will contain drawings in Joyce's and my own Moleskine: then posted to Marty.

Sarah

My first entry.

Jacqui is continuing on with this "backyard facing east" theme that I started. And the books will continue to blow in that direction as Jacqui sends to Joyce, and Sarah sends to me.

Actually, the books will be travelling west. Darn. That easterly bit was so poetic.

The beginning...

First Installments.
We are in the first month of the Moleskine Exchange.

These are from Joyce and Hans:

Sarah

What is the Moleskine Exchange?

This blog will follow the adventure of a group of artists around the world, in a Japanese fold Moleskine sketchbook exchange.

Each artist will set off with a small Japanese (accordian) folded Moleskine. Creating a drawing, collage, or painting, then send on to the next artist. Each artist will draw on a spread (2 or 3 pages) then send it on to the next artist. When the artists book is filled, it will be returned to the owner with images created by artist around the world. Each artist has a month to make an entry. The outcome will be a pleasant and surprising adventure, as artists are encouraged to interact and merge their art with others.

Project begun by Marty Harris, Minnesota, USA.

The concept:

1.
The artists start with the Japanese fold Moleskine - Name, address, email address written in book.

2.
Each artist gets 1 month to make a sketchbook entry, and mail it to the next person. The order is listed to the right.

3. Each artist will do 2-3 pages each round.

4. Artists are encouraged to interact with other images in the book. Please be respectful.

5.
When the book is full, when one side of the unfolded book is filled, the book will be sent back to its original owner. That artist may continue by buying a new book and sending it to the next person.

6. If a person decides not to continue, she will simply keep her book when it comes back to her. She should email all of the participants to say she is not going to continue. We will decide, then, if we want to find a new person.

7. Please communicate regularly via email. Let each person know that you have received/sent the book. The goal is to have a dialogue. Any comments and questions are welcome.
